Launch of Crooked Seams
We were so pleased to be joined by so many participants, partners and interested parties at our launch event for Crooked Seams on Wednesday 22 January as part of the comics-inspired exhibition at the Institute of Mental Health at the University of Nottingham.
It was excellent to be able to share the final printed copy of the graphic novella that was produced as a collaboration between young people from Outburst at Base 51, graphics and digital design students from Confetti and Liam Mills, and especially to have the young people themselves sign the copies!
"It's so cool to see it in print"
We were moved by the power of having your work turned into a physical object, and reminded of how important it is for young people to see their work have meaning and be championed.
You can have a read online of the novella below, or printed copies are available at Confetti, Base 51 and at our Ignite! office. The exhibition will be at the Institute of Mental Health on the University of Nottingham Jubilee Campus until 21 March.
This project was funded by a 'Making Connections' grant from UKRI through the UK Science Festivals Network.
